Gazette Ceases Publication: Donates Archives to LHS

In 2010, the Larchmont Gazette ceased publication. In 2011 the publishers donated all contents to the Larchmont Historical Society, which will continue to make the Gazette archives available online.

Josephine Amorosano

Josephine Amorosano, a longtime resident of Larchmont, died on October 26, 2010. She was 103. Mrs. Amorosano was born on October 19, 1907 in New Rochelle to the late Cosimo and Catarina (Masstracchio) Italiano. In 1929 she married Dominick Amorosano. He died in 1961.

Josephine is survived by her daughter, Louise (Nick)Vareltzis; fifteen grandchildren; twenty three great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren; sister Cynthia Garofalo (the Garofalo family and friends), sister Angelina and a brother Frank Italiano, daughter-in-law Lilo Amorosano and her family. She was predeceased by four sons: Johnny Boy, Basil, Dominick and Cosmo and two granddaughters Cheryl and Sandra. She is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be Friday, October 29 from 9 AM to 11 AM at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel Inc., 16 Shea Pl, New Rochelle where a service will be held Friday at 11 am. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Sisto & Paino, Inc.
