Gazette Ceases Publication: Donates Archives to LHS

In 2010, the Larchmont Gazette ceased publication. In 2011 the publishers donated all contents to the Larchmont Historical Society, which will continue to make the Gazette archives available online.

Celeste Santoro

Celeste Santoro, a longtime resident of Mamaroneck died on June 7, 2009. She was 96 years old. Celeste was born November 7, 1912 in White Plains, NY to the late Michael and Maria Josephine DeLitta Fraioli. For many years she was a member of the Harrison Columbiette’s and the Catholic Daughters.

She is survived by her children Carmello J. Santoro (Nancy) of Rancho Santa Fe, CA, Michael Santoro (Mary Beth) of Wappingers Falls, NY, Celeste Ruggiero (Gary) of Milford, CT, two sisters, Marie Isola (Joe), Bernita LeGrazie as well as her sister in law Ruth Fraioli. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Fred J. Santoro, and brothers, Joseph, Rocco and Frank.

Friends may call from 4-8 PM on Thursday, June 11 at the Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home, 767 E. Boston Post Rd., Mamaroneck, NY. Mass of Christian will be celebrated 10 AM on Friday, June 12 at St. Vito’s RC Church. Interment will follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery, Rye, NY. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1 Union St. #301, Robbinsville, NJ 086914183 or Charity of Choice.
