Mayor’s House Is On the Market, But She’s Staying

This time the rumor is true: Mayor Liz Feld’s house at 39 Monroe Avenue is on the market. But no, the mayor is not leaving.

“Of course, I’m staying locally,” she said when reached for comment on Thursday, April 2, the day after a brokers’ open house at her Monroe Avenue home.

The Feld's house is on the market for $1,549,000.

The 2,311 square-foot home has 4-bedrooms and is listed for $1,549,000. Taxes are $26,212. An online description of the home notes that it “has been totally repainted in the interior.” (See: Cathy Fugazy, Sothebys Homes.) Other renovations were undertaken after a garage fire last January. Mayor Feld was not specific about the location of her next home, but provided a clue. “I love Larchmont. I love being able to walk into town,” she said. She and her husband, Joel Feld, also own an apartment in the Boston area, where Mr. Feld is an executive with the New England Sports Network.

The mayor’s sister and brother-in-law, Nadine and John Rote, also have their home on the market. The 7-bedroom Georgian on Locust Avenue is listed at $4,200,000. Mayor Feld laughed and said she wished she could afford to move there.
