JULIANNE (BOERST) SANDBERG
Julianne Boerst Sandberg, a lifelong resident of Larchmont, died on
December 13 at the age of sixty-five. The cause was cancer. She was
born February 16, 1940 in Jamestown, NY, graduated in 1958 from
Mamaroneck High School and received a Bachelors degree from the College
of New Rochelle.
For many years she worked in the field of marketing research, but her
true love was her recent years on the library staff of Windward School
in White Plains, a school for children with learning disabilities. The
love of the children, the friendships she forged and the compassionate
and generous spirit of her co-workers brought real joy and happiness
into her life.
Julie is survived by two daughters, Kellie Sandberg of Larchmont, Robin
Sandberg of Oakland, CA; by her beloved grandson, Paul Sandberg of
New City; a sister Jane Roth and her husband Richard of New City,
a brother Joseph Boerst and his wife Claudia of Norwalk, CT, and a
sister-in-law Barbara Boerst, also of Larchmont; Julie was a loving aunt
to nine nieces and nephews and one new grand niece, and companion to
three adored felines, Shirley, Twizzle and Max. Julie was predeceased
by her former husband Kirk Sandberg, formerly of Larchmont, her brother,
James Boerst, Jr., and her parents James and Margret Boerst of
Larchmont.
