LORETTA MOONEY DUNNE

Loretta Mooney Dunne of Port Chester, NY passed away on October 25, 2005 at the age of 92. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 18, 1913 to parents Loretta and Bernard Mooney, brothers Bernard and George.

Loretta was a caring and vital woman who will be missed by all. Her sense of elegance and grace will remain forever in our hearts. In 1936 she married engineer Samuel B. Dunne of County Cork, Whitegate, Ireland. Together they raised four children. When her husband died in 1976, Loretta moved to be with her daughter and son-in-law William Winters in Larchmont, NY. She was an avid member of the Larchmont Woman's Club. She donated her time to the YES Office of Mamaroneck High School as well as the Sound Shore Hospital in New Rochelle.

Loretta suffered a major illness in 2002 and recently was under care at the Schaefer Center in New Rochelle. She is survived by daughters, Deirdre Winters and Roisin McEwen and son, Diarmuid Dunne. She is predeceased by daughter, Maeve Dunne. She has 12 loving grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Family and friends may join us for a funeral mass at 10:00 AM, November 5, 2005 at St. Augustine Church, Larchmont.
