ANNA C. WELLMANN (KASTNING)
Anna C. Wellmann (Kastning) of Mamaroneck passed away on Saturday, August 27 at the Sarah
Neuman Nursing Home. Mrs. Wellmann was 98 years old. She was born in Germany on
March 17, 1907.
Mrs. Wellmann was predeceased by her husband, Frederick in 1985. She immigrated to the
United States in 1926. Frederick Wellmann arrived in 1928 and they were married in New
York.
Mrs. Wellmann is survived by her son, Gerhard Wellmann and his wife Todne of Mountain
Lakes, NJ, her daughter, Carol Johnson and her husband George of Valhalla, NY, and
her son Robert Wellmann and his wife, Valerie of Stoneham, MA. Anna is also survived by
her sister, Elfrieda Kuch of Nassau, NY. Mrs. Wellmann, “Oma“ is also survived by six
loving grandchildren, Steven Wellmann and his wife Teresa of Laconia, NH, Janice
Robertson and her husband Murray of Mountain Lakes, NJ, Jennifer Marin and her
husband Matthew of Mountain Lakes, NJ, Karen Falco and her husband, Gerry of Valhalla,
NY, Marianne Stickles and her husband, Rick of Westford, MA, and Eric Wellmann and his
wife, Tracey, of Cohasset, MA. She also is survived by 13 great-grandchildren, Matthew
and Glenn Wellmann, Brian, Christopher and Rachel Robertson, Amanda and Hadley Marin,
Michael and Christian Falco, Samantha and Kevin Stickles, Joseph and Victor Wellmann.
Mrs. Wellmann was an active participant of St. John's Lutheran Church in Mamaroneck. She
was very involved with the Ruth Guild. Mrs. Wellmann had worked at Harbor Island and
was also a long-time employee of B. Altman and Company.
Anna will be remembered as a loving mother and devoted to all her family. She and her
husband were proud citizens of the United States and were thankful to have continued
their life here. Mrs. Wellmann had an indomitable spirit and her cheerfulness and loving
nature inspired all who knew her. She will be missed by all her family, neighbors and
friends.
Interment will be private and a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 17,
2005 at 2:00 pm at St. John's Lutheran Church, Fenimore Road, Mamaroneck, NY.
