CHARLES "CHE-CHE" DORIA
Charles “Che-Che“ Doria, a Mamaroneck resident, died July 23, 2005 at his home.
He was 80.
Born December 22, 1924 to Dominick and Mary (Gardenella) Doria, he served in
the Navy from 1943 to 1945 and was stationed in the South Pacific. For 29 years he was
a union carpenter and he went on to work for an additional 15 years as a carpenter for
the Village of Mamaroneck. He joined the Volunteer Engine & Hose Company in 1953 and
served as Chief from 1977 to 1978.
Loving husband of Stella (Garcia). In addition to his wife Stella, he is survived by his
children John Doria (wife Donna), Carol DeMaio (husband Dan), LuAnn Doria, and
daughterin-law, Ann Marie Doria. Also survived by his grandchildren, Chuckie, Michael,
Christine, David, Stephanie and Taylor, great-grandchildren, Chad and Nicole, and sister
Fanny Salerno and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his son, Charles Doria
and siblings Salvatore Doria, Elizabeth Poccia and Antoinette Acavell.
Visitation Monday evening, July 25 from 7 to 9 pm and Tuesday, July 26 from 2 to 4 and 7
to 9 pm at COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME, 767 E. Boston Post Rd., Mamaroneck. 914-698-5968.
Funeral Mass Wednesday, July 27 at 10 am at St. Vito's RC Church followed by interment
at Beechwood Cemetery.
