DONALD JAMES PLUNKETT
Donald James Plunkett of Larchmont, NY passed away suddenly July
15, 2005. He was born July 4, 1924, in Brooklyn , NY to
Christopher James Plunkett and Mae Ellen Plunkett (nee
McGourty). He attended New York City schools, served in
the US Navy in the Signal Corps during World War II and
graduated from the RCA Institute with a degree in Audio
Engineering.
Mr. Plunkett
was a professional recording engineer with NBC, MGM Records,
and Capitol Records. Additionally he was the president
of Fairchild Recording and Harvey Radio. Mr. Plunkett was
a charter member of the Audio Engineering Society and later
served as the first Executive Director of the Society,
a position he held for 20 years until his retirement.
Very
much beloved and devoted husband of Mary Elizabeth (Liz)
Plunkett (nee Wetherby), whom he married February 15,
1958. They shared a life filled with great laughter, travel,
joy and much, much happiness. Loving and guiding father
of Hilary Plunkett Jones, Christopher Wetherby Plunkett,
Elizabeth Ellen Mastoloni, and Emily Plunkett Fleischer.
Father-in-law of Francis John Mastoloni and Scott Andrew
Fleischer. Loving and patient grandfather to Patrick
Christopher Jones, James Francis Mastoloni, Emily Ann Mastoloni
and Lauren Ellen Mastoloni.
Visiting
Tuesday, July 19 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Fox Funeral
Home. Mass Wednesday 11:00 am at St. Augustine Church in
Larchmont. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity
of your choice is appreciated.
