GEORGE NORMAN WERDAL

George Norman Werdal, a 40 year Mamaroneck resident, and former resident of Uiondale, NY and Mesa, Az, died on July 1, 2005 at age 73.

Born December 7, 1931 to Albert and Gunvor (Kneiborstahl) Werdal, he attended Yonkers public schools and graduated from Roosevelt High School. George served in the Army from 1950 to 1952. He worked as an independent insurance agent and was the proprietor of DeRosa/Werdal Insurance in Mamaroneck. On August 3, 1957, he married Evelyn (Paige) at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Eastchester.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Jeffrey Werdal of Brewster and Cheryl Mehrkar of Mamaroneck. Adored grandfather of Erica, Evan and Nicole Werdal. Brother of Ted Werdal of NC, Eugene Werdal of PA and Rudolph Werdal of the Bronx. Cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and nephews.

Visitation Tuesday, July 5 from 2-4 and 7-9, Wednesday, July 6 from 2-4 only, COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME, 767 E. Boston Post Rd., Mamaroneck. Funeral Service Wednesay evening, June 6 at 7 pm at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Mamaroneck. In lieu of flowers, donations to Griffin Hospital Development Fund, 130 Division St., Derby, CT 06418 or St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 168 W. Boston Post Rd., Mamaroneck, or a charity of your choice.
