MARIA "MARRIETTA PROTANO

Maria “Marrietta“ Protano, died peacefully on June 4, 2005 at age 94. Born in Manchester, England, on November 5, 1910 to Dominic and Cintia (Ricozzi) Avo. Maria was raised in Colfelice, Italy, and immigrated to the U.S. in 1951. She worked for Technical Material Corp. in Mamaroneck.

Loving wife of the late Alessandro Protano. Cherished mother of Nino Protano (wife Marie) and Angela Maresca (husband Frank Sr.). Devoted grandmother of Frank Maresca Jr. (wife Tina) Sandra Maresca, Vera Protano and Alex Protano and greatgrandmother of Samantha Maresca. She is also survived by a sister-in-law Antoinette Protano and many nieces and nephews. Maria loved to cook, sew and crochet and go to church. Most of all she especially loved to be with her family and friends.

Visitation Monday June 6, 6-9 pm and Tuesday, June 7 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME, 767 E. Boston Post Rd., Mamaroneck (914), 698-5968. Funeral Mass Wednesday,June 8 at 10 am at St. Vito's R.C. Church followed by entombment at Ferncliff Cemetery.
