NANCY N. BOOKMAN
Nancy N. Bookman, 80, of White Plains died May 22, 2005. She was
born in Redford, MI, the daughter of Raymond C. and Mabel Dock Noye.
She attended schools in Hancock, MI, Detroit, MI and the University of
Michigan at Ann Arbor, MI.
Nancy was married to William I. Bookman in Detroit on July 6, 1945.
They lived in Boston, New Rochelle, Larchmont, Yonkers and since 1961
in White Plains. While in Yonkers, she was president of the
Parent-Teacher Association at School 29 and was active as a Girl Scout
leader. She served as by-laws chairman of the New York State
Parent-Teacher Association. She was a free-lance proofreader.
In White Plains, she was on the board of directors of the White Plains
Beautification Foundation and was a member of the foundation's Urban
Design Odyssey, which visited cities in Europe and Great Britian to
garner ideas for White Plains' urban renewal program. She was a member
of the Woman's Club of White Plains and chair of the club's American
Home section. She was also a member of the White Plains Exchange Club
and a volunteer with the Exchange Club Child Abuse Prevention Center.
She is survived by her husband; by two daughters, Susan Koerber of
San Francisco, CA, and Kathryn Hackney of Pataskala, OH; and a
grandson, Benjamin C. Hackney of Columbus, OH.
There will be no Funeral Service. Memorial gifts may be made to the
Exchange Club Child Abuse Prevention Center, 3-7 Holland Ave., White
Plains NY 10603.
