PHILIP D. TRIFILETTI
Philip D. Trifiletti, a lifetime Mamaroneck resident, died peacefully
on April 29, 2005 at age 87. He was born March 11, 1918 to Dominick and Angelina (Barbacchio)
Trifiletti.
Philip was a highly decorated World War II Veteran having toured in the
Central European Campaign including Normandy, Northern France and Rhineland.
Philip fought in the Battle of St. Lo, Battle of the Bulge as well as the Omaha Landings
on D-Day. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star for the heroism displayed in his action
in Germany.
The proprietor of Philip D. Trifiletti Builder, he was designer and builder of exclusive
homes, a career that spanned more than 40 years. On January 6, 1946, he married
Silvana (Merolle) at St. Vito's R.C. Church.
In addition to his beloved wife, Silvana, he is survived by his children, the Honorable
Mayor Philip Trifiletti (wife Judy), Steve Trifiletti (wife Diane) and Judy Ryan
(husband Ed). Also survived by grandchildren, Edwin, Jessica, Jaclyn, Steven, Ashley
and Lindsay, as well as siblings, Rose Pugliese, Lena Vaccaro (husband Ernest),
Mary Trifiletti, Dominick Trifiletti and Frank Trifiletti. He is predeceased by siblings,
John, Vincent “Jimmy“, Joseph, Henry, Charlie and Philip Trifiletti and Sadie DeRosa.
Visitation Sunday, May 1 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME, 767 E.
Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck. Funeral Mass Monday, May 2 at 11 am St. Vito's RC Church
followed by entombment at Ferncliff Cemetery. Donations can be sent to the Village of
