DANIEL ALBERT FALKERSON

Daniel Albert Falkerson, a longtime resident of Mamaroneck, NY, and former Captain of the Halstead Manor Volunteer Fire Department, died Saturday, April 23, at his home a block from the Atlantic Ocean in Ormond Beach, FL. He was 92 years old.

Daniel was born December 10, 1912. A retired carpenter, he loved boating and fishing, and was an Honorary Life Member of Harbor Island Boat Club in Mamaroneck, NY. He moved to Ormond Beach with his wife Anna May in 1980, where he continued to fish from the seashore. After the roof of his home was badly damaged by the 2004 Florida hurricanes, he climbed up and repaired it himself with a friend. He enjoyed music, and he always impressed his grandchildren with his ability to draw and whistle.

Daniel's first wife, Mary Leen Falkerson, died in 1937. His second wife of more than 50 years, his beloved Anna May, died in 2000. He is survived by three children: Joan Doherty of Larchmont, NY; Dolores Morea of Park Ridge, NJ, and Kevin Falkerson of Occidental, CA; and predeceased by two sons: Daniel of Harrison, NY, and Richard of Mamaroneck, NY and Florida. He will be missed by 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, April 27 at the Chapel of the Dale Woodward Funeral Home, 1780 Ocean Shore Blvd., Ormond Beach, FL 386441-1010.
