MORTON E. ORNITZ

Morton E. Ornitz, of Mamaroneck, NY, died on March 30, 2005. Husband of the late Sylvia Ornitz, devoted father of Robert D. Ornitz and Frederic N. Ornitz, grandfather of Mark and Diana.

He attended Syracuse University and obtained his accounting degree at the University of the State of New York. Specializing as a cost systems analyst, while working for a prestigious New York accounting firm, he later became assistant to the president of Emerson Radio and Electronics Corporation, where during WWII he served in the Office of Scientific Research and Development.

A fifty-year resident of Mamaroneck, Mr. Ornitz was a man of uncompromising integrity and standards who conducted himself within his profession and personal life with utterly consistent honesty and loyalty. His powerful presence helped to provide strength and clarity of thought in times of crisis for those who sought his counsel.
