MINNIE MAYEBO SOGIOKA

Minnie Sogioka, a 44 year resident of Larchmont, NY, passed away in Stuart, FL, on March 27, 2005.

Born in Selma, CA, on January 21, 1919, she is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Cecile and David Ralph of Gardiner, NY, and Stuart, FL; Jean and James LaSpina of Tequesta, FL; Alyce and Bruce Conklin of New Paltz, NY; her brother, Gene Mayebo, and sister-in-law, Yoshiko, of Pittsburg, CA; and three grandchildren: Mimi, Dustin, and Jack Sammarco. Her husband, Gene, predeceased her in 1988.

During WWII, Minnie and her family were interned at Poston, AZ, with others of Japanese heritage, for two years. On release, the family moved to NY. Minnie worked for many years as a cost estimator for Sealectro, Mamaroneck, NY, and as a Hospice volunteer during her retirement.

The family will hold a private service in Stuart during the summer. Arrangements are made through All County Funeral Home & Crematory, 1010 NW Federal Highway, Stuart, FL 34994, (772) 692-4055.
