JAMES V. STAROPOLI

James V. Staropoli, former Town of Mamaroneck Police Chief died on March 8, 2005. Jim was born in Larchmont on December 30, 1916 to Nicola and Anna Staropoli. He grew up in Larchmont, graduated from Mamaroneck High School and served four years in the Army during World War II, two of those years in England and France.

Family was always first for Jim. He was predeceased by his loving wife Cecelia (nee D'Onofrio), sister Sarah and brother Pat. He is survived by son Jim Jr. and daughter-in-law Barbara, daughters Lynn Tuzzolino and Sharon Bonet; brothers Tony and Nick. He adored his grandchildren Peter, Michael and Christopher and great-grandchildren Christina, Amanda, Peter James and Andrea.

In addition to his love of family, he cherished good friends, valued good deeds and enjoyed a good game of golf. He was always a gentleman who respected others and lived his life with honor and integrity.

Visiting hours at Fox Funeral Home, Larchmont on Friday, March 11 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass will be at Holy Name Roman Catholic Church, New Rochelle on Saturday, March 12 at 9:30 am. Interment Beechwood Cemetery.
