VERONICA (GENTILE) PANARO

Veronica Panaro (Gentile), died February 4, 2005 at her home. She was 97. Born in Capestrano in the Italian Province of Abruzzi on November 27, 1907 to Antonio and Antoinetta Gentile.

She arrived in America in 1928 to visit her father who had been working in the Village of Mamaroneck.There she met her husband, Salvatore Panaro, and they were married on October 12, 1929. Salvatore passed away January 12, 1989. Veronica continued to enjoy cooking, opera and the company of her family and friends until her death.

Veronica is survived by her children William Panaro (wife Mary Louise). Antoinette May (husband Charles), Doreen Del Bianco (husband Joseph) and Lydia Adriana Grier (husband Harry), 13 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. Also survived by a sister, Leonilda Santini, and sister-in-law Louise Gentile and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by one grandchild and siblings, Giovanni, Leonardo, Ernando, and Corinne.

Visitation Saturday, February 5 and Sunday, February 6 from 2-4 and 7-9 at COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME, 767 E. Boston Post Rd., Mamaroneck. Funeral Mass Monday, February 7 at 11:30 am at Most Holy Trinity, followed by Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery.
