PETER DAY MOFFETT

DAYPeter Day Moffett, age 46, died Thursday, January 13, 2005 at his home in Larchmont, NY. He was born May 15, 1958 in New Rochelle, NY to Rodney and Anne Moffett.

He graduated from Mamaroneck High School in 1976 and from SUNY College at Oneonta in 1983 with a degree in Geology. Peter had a great interest in science, religion and the history of war. He was also an avid reader, a sports fan, a devoted Neil Young fan, a member of the Larchmont Avenue Church and most recently worked as an optician at Trapp Opticians in Rye.

He is survived by his brothers Paul Moffett (Christine) and their children: Angela, Gregory and Paige of Lakeville, MN and John Moffett (Tina) of North Potomac, MD. Peter is also survived by his beloved cats Strummer and Jones. He was preceded in death by his father, Rodney D. Moffett in 1973, his mother, Anne L. Moffett in 2002 and his aunt, Jane Landes in 2003.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 18, 2005 at 11 am at Larchmont Avenue Church. Interment will be in the memorial garden at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Peter's name can be made to the Democratic National Committee.
