CAROL MILLER O'CONNOR
Carol Miller O'Connor, 81, died on October 15.
She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on June 7, 1923 to Maxwell
Vincent Miller and Eunice McLaughlin Miller, and grew up in
Larchmont, NY as the eldest of four children. A Denver resident
for 50 years, Carol moved to Denver with her husband, John
William (Bill) O'Connor, M.D. in 1952. In addition to devoting
herself at home to raise her children, Carol was a productive
member of the Junior League and active in the Swedish Hospital
auxiliary. Known as an accomplished bridge player, Carol played
with a group of women who were her close friends for 40 years.
She loved to knit and needlepoint, and gifted her works to
grateful relatives. Carol taught her family by example to
accept life's changes and hardships with dignity and fortitude.
She had a wonderful sense of humor and was positive and forever
forward looking.
Carol loved her family and will be missed very much. Carol is
survived by son Det O'Connor of Tampa, FL; daughter Leslie
O'Connor Parrish of Fairbanks, AK; daughter Kent O'Connor of
Denver, CO; and daughter Gail O'Connor of Austin, TX. Carol
was grandmother to Kent Parrish Steines, Lance and Chris
Parrish, and great-grandmother to Leslie and Abigail Steines.
All reside in Colorado. Preceded in death by her parents and
siblings Gail and Jim Miller. Carol is survived by her brother
Frederick Miller of Cape Cod, MA.
Her family plans a spring memorial and burial in Hartford, CT
next to Carol's parents and siblings.
