PETER ROCK

Peter Rock, a lifelong resident, died on Monday, October 18, 2004 at St. Joseph’s Medical Center. He was born in Yonkers on July 13, 1919 to the late Peter Rock and Anna Salamak Rock.

Mr. Rock attended St. Mary’s Elementary School and Saunders Trade and Technical High School. He was an airplane mechanic technician in the Army Air Corps from March of 1942 until January 1946, attaining the rank of Sergeant. He was awarded four medals for service to his country. He was a member of ILGWU-Local 10. He married Helen Krusko on April 22, 1944 at St. Nicholas of Myra Church in Yonkers.

Mr. Rock is survived by his beloved wife, Helen of Yonkers; his devoted son, Peter of Mamaroneck; a brother, Steven of Florida; one granddaughter, Simona of Asheville, NC; one grandson, John Peter of Mamaroneck and several loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers: John, Andrew and William and two sisters: Ann and Mary.

Reposing at Duchynski-Cherko, Inc., on Friday, October 22 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at Church of the Immaculate Conception (St. Mary’s) on Saturday, October 23, 2004 at 10 am. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery.
