Jack Slyper

(July 20, 2003) Jack Slyper on July 20, 2003, longtime resident of Larchmont, NY. Beloved husband of Rose Marie (nee: Huisman). Devoted father of Raynalda Slyper-Bryant (Michael) and Conrad Slyper (Elaine Celestino). Grandfather to Jennifer and Amanda.

During WWII he served first in the OSS and later in the CIC. In Larchmont he was well known for his volunteer work with the Larchmont Beautification Committee, and his vegetable garden at the reservoir was used to feed the less fortunate. He received the Martin Luther King Jr. award for humanitarian achievements in 1993.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Larchmont Mamaroneck Hunger Task Force, PO Box 634, Mamaroneck NY 10543 or your favorite charity. Mr. Slyper's family will start receiving friends at the funeral home at 10:30am today followed by a funeral service at 11:30am. The interment is private.
