MICHAEL J. PETERS

(February 5, 2003 ) Michael J. Peters, a long-time resident of Larchmont, New York, died Monday, February 3, 2003. He was 88 years old. Michael was born in New York City on August 20, 1914 to Mary and Michael Peters. Michael married Evelyn Heuer in 1939. Evelyn died in 1987. He is also predeceased by three sisters.

Michael worked for the New York City Transit Authority for 40 years, and then for the First Federal Savings and Loan Association of New York.

Michael is survived by three daughters, Joan Dapolite of Larchmont, New York, Evelyn Goyette and husband Paul of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and Mary Jane Williams and husband Ken of Upper Montclair, New Jersey; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth Anderson, Michael Dapolite, John Dapolite, Lynn Oswill, William Goyette, Kenneth and Catherine Williams; and, seven great grandchildren, James, Lauren and Rebecca Anderson, Michael and Jennifer
Dapolite and Eric and Kristin Oswill.

Michael’s greatest love was his family. Gramps, as he was affectionately called by everyone, loved spending time at his summer home on Candlewood Lake with all his family and friends. He will be sorely missed by everyone who loved him.

The family will receive visitors at the John J. Fox Funeral Home, 2080 Boston Post Road, Larchmont, New York on Thursday, February 6, 2003 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial, Friday, February 7, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at Sts. John & Paul Roman Catholic Church, Larchmont, New York.

Interment: St. Raymond’s Cemetery, Bronx, New York. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105 would be greatly appreciated.
