Lillian F. MacNaughton

) Lillian F. MacNaughton, a 35-year resident of Larchmont,
died on January 2,
2003 at the age of 81, with her family at her side.
She was born on March 26, 1921 in Hoboken, New Jersey
to Max and Frieda
Feichtner, who had immigrated to the United States
from Austria and
Switzerland respectively. She graduated from A.J. Demarest
High School in
Hoboken and attended Hunter College. She was married
to the late William G.
MacNaughton, and lived in Yonkers, the Buffalo area,
Chappaqua,
Pleasantville and Indianapolis before settling in Larchmont.
Lillian worked for Consolidated Edison in New York
for 22 years as a manager
of customer correspondence, writing instructor and
editor of Con Ed’s “
Spotlight” newsletter addressed to senior citizens.
She retired from Con
Ed in 1991 at age 70. Earlier she worked in customer
correspondence for
Reader’s Digest in Pleasantville, RCA Record
Club in Indianapolis and The
Metropolitan Museum in New York. The mayor of Orchard
Park, the Buffalo
suburb, presented her with a key to the city in 1960,
in recognition of her
work reporting Orchard Park news for the Buffalo Evening
News. Lillian was
a long time member of Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church
before joining the
Larchmont Avenue Church. After her retirement from
Con Ed, Lillian taught
reading in White Plains through a school volunteers
program for elementary
school students.
Lillian is survived by her daughter Ruth and son-in-law
Harold Spencer of
Oakland,CA and her daughters Laura of New York and
Amy of Seattle.
Friends may call at the Fox Funeral Home, 2080 Boston
Post Road, Larchmont on Wednesday,
January 8, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A memorial service
will be
held at the Larchmont Avenue Church on Thursday, January
9, at 11 a.m. In
lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made
to the Larchmont Avenue Church, 60 Forest Park Avenue, Larchmont, NY 10538.
