Robert George Everett, a long-time resident of Larchmont, New York, and most recently, Norwalk, Connecticut died Friday, February 12th; the was 78 years old. Robert was born in Binghamton, New York on March 15th, 1931 to the late Robert L. and Madeleine Everett.
Robert’s greatest love was his family and he is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Betty Whitten-Everett, two daughters, Elizabeth Manville (husband, Reed) of Studio City, CA and Karen Dunne (husband, John) of Skaneateles, NY, two sons, Robert S. Everett (wife, Mari) of Rowayton, CT and Thomas R. Everett (wife, Barbara) of Norwalk, CT. Robert was the proud grandfather to Christina, William and Weston Manville (CA), Nicole, Patrick, Margaret and Betsy Dunne (NY) and Robert C. and Madeline Everett (CT), a sister, Marilyn Everett-Wood (Late husband, Kenneth) and many nieces and nephews. Robert was the loving master of Duke, Duchess, Hope and Harbour, all Labrador Retrievers.
Robert received a B.A. Degree from Harpur College (1953, Binghamton, New York) and later an M.B.A. from Cornell University (1955, Ithaca, New York) making the Deans Honor list. Robert began his career at IBM Corporation, July 1955, 590 Madison Ave. NY, NY, where he rapidly progressed in various financial and accounting positions and later was appointed Group Director of Financial Planning. Robert left IBM to become President, CEO and Vice Chairman of two New York Stock Exchange companies, Great Western United Corporation headquartered in Denver Colorado, and Fisher Foods Incorporated, headquartered in Bedford Heights, Ohio.
A private family mass was held in Darien, CT.
