Gazette Ceases Publication: Donates Archives to LHS


In 2010, the Larchmont Gazette ceased publication. In 2011 the publishers donated all contents to the Larchmont Historical Society, which will continue to make the Gazette archives available online.

Peter T. Quigley Sr.

Peter T. Quigley Sr., a resident of Larchmont and formerly of New Rochelle, died on October 6, 2009. He was 77. Mr. Quigley was born on November 12, 1931 in New Rochelle, to the late Felix and Bernice (Murphy) Quigley. He worked for many years as a mover for Neptune Worldwide Moving and then for Collins Bros. before his retirement. He was an Army Veteran during the Korean War and was a member of the Larchmont American Legion Post 347.

He is survived by his former wife Jean M. Kelly; seven children Patricia (Miguel) Gutierrez, Peter T. Quigley Jr., Sean (Efee) Quigley, Jeanne Marie QuigleyPortillo, Martin (Danielle) Quigley, Brian (Theresa) Quigley, Michael (Madeline) Quigley; eight grandchildren, Daniel, Michael, Jillian, Eva, Allison, Brianna, Samuel and Eliana. ; Three brothers, Patrick J. Quigley, William A. Quigley, and George J. Quigley, and his companion May Lynch. He was predeceased by a brother John F. Quigley and a sister Kathryn T. Scofield.

Visiting Thursday, October 8 from 7-9 PM and Friday, October 9 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Pl, New Rochelle. Mass Saturday, October 10 at 9:30am at Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment at Beechwoods Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions to American Legion Post 347 preferred. www.LloydMaxcy.com
