Gazette Ceases Publication: Donates Archives to LHS


In 2010, the Larchmont Gazette ceased publication. In 2011 the publishers donated all contents to the Larchmont Historical Society, which will continue to make the Gazette archives available online.

Patsy M. Giacomo

Patsy M. Giacomo of Larchmont passed away on December 20, 2010. He was 89 years old.

Before his retirement, Patsy was the longtime owner of the Atlantic Service Center in Larchmont. He served in the United States Army during WWII in Europe attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. Patsy was a member of the American Legion, Knights of Columbus, Rye Golf Club as well as the Davenport Club for many years also a parishioner at Sts. John & Paul RC Church in Larchmont.

For forty years he spent the winter in Pompano Beach, Florida where he has many friends. He served as Fire Chief for the Town of Mamaroneck where he was a member of the volunteers for over 60 years. He is survived by his beloved wife, Theresa (nee Loffredo) Giacomo, three loving children, Janis Walby (John) of Williamsburg, VA, Patricia Tyrrell (John) of Goldens Bridge, NY, Dennis Giacomo of Sharon Springs, NY as well as his granddaughter Jennifer Tyrrell of Boston, MA. his brother Joseph Giacomo also survives him. He was predeceased by his brothers Frank, Charlie and Nicholas.

Friends may call on Wednesday, December 22 from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm at Coxe and Graziano Funeral Home, 767 East Boston Post Rd., Mamaroneck, NY, www.coxeandgraziano.com . Funeral Mass Thursday, December 23 at 11:30 a.m. at Sts. John & Paul R.C. Church followed by interment at St Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials donations may be made to The Town Of Mamaroneck Fire Dept 205 Weaver St. Larchmont, NY 10538.
