Gazette Ceases Publication: Donates Archives to LHS

In 2010, the Larchmont Gazette ceased publication. In 2011 the publishers donated all contents to the Larchmont Historical Society, which will continue to make the Gazette archives available online.

Max Henry Levine

Max Henry Levine, age 70, died suddenly December 1, 2010. He was born to Antonina Monocco and Milton Levine in NYC May 13th, 1940 and raised in Mahopac, NY. He graduated from Mahopac High School and Colgate University. He served in the US Marines from 1962-1965, retiring as a first lieutenant. He was married to Julia Wright in 1963.

He was the co-founder of Hoenig and Company and head of institutional sales trading from 1967 until the firm was sold. He remained an active trader until his untimely death. He was partners with his son Michael for the past 18 years. Among his numerous charitable and civic contributions were cofounder of The St. Jude’s Wall Street Committee, The New York State Trooper’s Signal 30 Fund, Member of the board of trustees for Ithaca College and numerous Catholic charities.

He is survived by his wife Judy, his daughter and son-in-law Donna and Donald Takash, their three children Daniel, Elizabeth, and Sarah, his son Michael and Michael’s son, Max Henry Levine II.

Visiting Sunday, December 5 fromĀ 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the John J. Fox Funeral Home, Inc. 2080 Boston Post Road Larchmont, NY 10538 (914) 834-0144. Funeral Mass Monday, December 6 atĀ 10 AM at St. Augustine Church in Larchmont. Interment at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations to Ronald McDonald House would be appreciated.
