Louis A. Lifrieri, former Chief of the Village of Mamaroneck Police Department, died August 27, 2009 at age 77. Born January 24,1932 to Joseph and Margaret (Maresca) Lifrieri.
Lou served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict while stationed upon the USS Gearing. He was a 29 year veteran of the Village of Mamaroneck Police Department where he served as Chief from 1971 to 1983. Lou is remembered as an avid hunter and fisherman. He had his Pilots License as well as his Captains License, but he is best remembered as a cherished family man and friend.
He is survived by his beloved wife Audrey “Chris” (McGinnis), loving sons, Glenn Lifrieri (Annette) and Paul Lifrieri, and dear grandchildren, Jamie, Matthew, Brian and Christopher. Cherished brother of Joseph Lifrieri and the late Patrick Lifrieri and Frances Ugliarolo. Also survived by his daughter-in-law Dena DeLitta Lifrieri.
Visitation Saturday, August 29 from 3-7 pm at COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME, 767E. Boston Post Rd., Mamaroneck. 914-6985968. Committal will be private. Contributions in lieu of flowers are requested to either St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Yale/New Haven Children’s Hospital.
