Gazette Ceases Publication: Donates Archives to LHS

In 2010, the Larchmont Gazette ceased publication. In 2011 the publishers donated all contents to the Larchmont Historical Society, which will continue to make the Gazette archives available online.

John “Jack” Mayne

John “Jack” Mayne, of Mamaroneck, died August 7, 2009 at age 80. Born July 28, 1929 in Brooklyn to John & Sarah Mayne. He served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict and went on to become a FDNY Captain. Jack was a member of the Elks club and the Knights of Columbus. He was also in charge of the Mamaroneck Senior House in Harbor Island Park.

Jack is survived by his beloved children, Vinny Mayne (Joanne), John Mayne (Sherri) and Nancy Mancuso (Louis), dear siblings, Eddie Mayne and Annie Schuchmann, loving grandchildren, Michael, Katelyn and Daniel Mayne, and Jeffrey and Nicole Mancuso. Also survived by his faithful companion, Dorothy Byron. Predeceased by a brother, Robert Mayne.

Visitation Sunday, August 9 from 7-9 pm & Monday, August 10  from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME, 767 E. Boston Post Rd, Mamaroneck, 914-698-5968. Funeral Mass Tuesday, August 11 at 11 am at  Most Holy Trinity RC Church. Committal will be private.
