Gazette Ceases Publication: Donates Archives to LHS

In 2010, the Larchmont Gazette ceased publication. In 2011 the publishers donated all contents to the Larchmont Historical Society, which will continue to make the Gazette archives available online.

James A Broderick, Jr.

James A Broderick, Jr., a resident of Mamaroneck, NY and Cape Coral, Fl, died on April 26, 2009. He was 81. Jim was born February 16,1928 in New York City. He was the son of James A. Broderick and Mary Elliot. He attended Mt. St. Michael High School. Jim served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in the Pacific until 1947.

Jim became an insurance agent for State Farm Insurance in 1956. He built a successful agency which he continued to run until now. Jim’s family followed him into the business. Jim and his family have been members of Orienta Beach Club in Mamaroneck since 1962. Jim was an avid tennis player and served on its Board of Directors.

Jim has been the beloved husband of Dorothy C. Broderick for the past 57 years. He is the loving father of 5 children and their spouses: Jim Broderick III and Lisa, Bob Broderick and Susan, Grace Capuano and Marty, Paul Broderick and Janet Macleod and Tom Broderick and Patty. Jim is the cherished grandfather of 11: Kathleen, Kelly, Jimmy, Ryan, Rob, Michael, Christine, Meghan, Timmy, Katie and Kevin. He is survived by his sister, Kay Wallace and her husband, Jim, and predeceased by his brother, Joe.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 29, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME, 767 E. Boston Post Rd Mamaroneck, 914-698-5968. The Funeral will be Thursday, April 30 at 10 am at Sts. John & Paul, 280 Weaver St, Larchmont. Internment is at Gate of Heaven in Valhalla. In lieu of flowers kindly make donations to the Mamaroneck EMS, 220 S Barry Ave, Mamaroneck, NY 10543.
