Hampton Bynum, a longtime resident of Mamaroneck, died on June 27, 2010. He was 93 years old. Born in Camden, South Carolina on September 9, 1916 to the late Hampton and Rosa Bynum.
Mr. Bynum served in the United States Army during WWII and was a member of the American Legion Post #90. He was a kind and gentle man who enjoyed to travel on many cruises throughout the world, loved his home and garden.
He is survived by his niece Elaine Holland, nephew Matthew Halley and many other nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his longtime friends and caregivers, Effie Palmer and Frank Colucci. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Eva in 1987 as well as his brother Jim and sisters, Alberta, Rosa, Rosaline, Susan, Mary and Mattie.
Friends may call from 4-8 PM on Tuesday, June 29 at the COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME, 767 E. Boston Post Rd., Mamaroneck, NY where services will be held 10AM on Wednesday, June 30. Interment will follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery, Rye, NY. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Westchester.
