Gazette Ceases Publication: Donates Archives to LHS


In 2010, the Larchmont Gazette ceased publication. In 2011 the publishers donated all contents to the Larchmont Historical Society, which will continue to make the Gazette archives available online.

Frank Walter Lanza

We are celebrating the wonderful life of Frank Walter Lanza. He passed way on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 in Ft Myers, Florida where he resided for the last 12 years. Walter was a dedicated Volunteer Fire Fighter in Mamaroneck, NY for 50 years and retired from the Westchester Joint Water Works in 1979. He loved his family, friends, golf, pets, playing cards and line dancing with his 2 left feet.

Survived by Evelyn Lanza, wife; Hortensia Lanza, wife pre-deceased and married for 25 years. Son: Richard Arce, daughter Patricia (Michell) Zagury. Grandchildren: Jacques Zagury 17 years old, Gabriel Zagury 16 years old and Emily Brown 8 years old. As well as Evelyn’s sons Hoyt (Marjorie) Brown, Joel Brown and his Kitty and Rio man’s best friend. Surviving Siblings: Theresa (Michael) Alberico and Mary (Bob) Ball. Brother: Joseph (Santa) Lanza Jr. as well as his late brothers Charlie, Tony and Vincent “Witch”. Mother Angelia (Rigano) Lanza Father Joseph Lanza. Along with the many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. We will always love you and will always be remembered in our hearts and minds.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 23 at 11am at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Rye Brook. Arrangements will be handled by COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME in Mamaroneck. 914-698-5968.
