Ellen F. Cassidy

Ellen F. Cassidy died on May 12, 2010. Born to Grinnell Bent and Ellen Bergin Bent in Fort Greene, Brooklyn on February 4, 1925. She moved to Larchmont in 1961. She was a parishioner of Sts. John & Paul and later St. Augustine and a member of the Larchmont Shore Club and the New York Athletic Club.

Ellen was best known for her elegant style, exotic hats and salty humor on the “shady” side of the pool. She relished the simple joys of life and laughed at its foibles. She was kind and generous, especially to her friends and those of her children. For the last six months, she lived with her son Kyran and his family and took daily adventures with her new friend Gladys. On her last day, they sat on the beach at City Island, eating shrimp and watching the birds. She passed peacefully later that day in her bed.

Beloved wife of the late Arthur B. Cassidy, Loving mother of Jeremiah Cassidy and Kyran Cassidy, Dear sister of the late Sarah Fitzpatrick and the late Kyran Bent, Adoring Grandmother of Noah, Matthew, Declan and Luca. Graduate of Bishop McDonnell Memorial High School (1943).
