Gazette Ceases Publication: Donates Archives to LHS

In 2010, the Larchmont Gazette ceased publication. In 2011 the publishers donated all contents to the Larchmont Historical Society, which will continue to make the Gazette archives available online.

Elinor Kronenberger

Elinor Agnes Mortimer Kronenberger passed away on February 22 at Sound Shore Medical Center. She was 91 years old. She was born December 25, 1918 in New Rochelle.

Elinor completed her higher education at Katherine Gibbs School, worked as a secretary in New York City and in Larchmont, at the Jack Coughlin Insurance Agency. She was a member of the Larchmont Ave. Presbyterian Church, Larchmont Woman’s Club and Larchmont Shore Club, she was a lifelong avid Yankee fan and she was very accomplished at needlepoint and thoroughly enjoyed being a member of the Music Commuters.

Elinor survived her first husband of 7 years, George Pfeffer and married James Kronenberger in 1959. They were happily married for next 44 years.  Elinor is survived by her son Craig of Middletown, New York and her stepson James and his wife Bonnie and their family of Cannon Falls, Minnesota.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, February 25 at 12 noon at John J. Fox Funeral Home, Inc., 2080 Boston Post Road, Larchmont, NY 10538. (914) 834-0144.
