Eleanor S. Panarello, a Larchmont resident, died December 9, 2009 at age 96. Born in NYC on August 15, 1913 to Cooper Arthur & Mabel Agnes Simmons. Eleanor enjoyed many careers through out her life that included, an Executive/Manager at R.H. Macy’s, a Kindergarten Teacher at Our Lady of Sorrows in the Bronx, as well as manager of The Golden Shoe String in Larchmont, where she worked more than 20 years before her retirement.
Eleanor was an active volunteer giving of her time to The Red Cross, The Children’s Hospital in Washington DC and the Twig Shop in Mamaroneck for the benefit of United Hospital. She is also remembered as an avid reader, excellent cook and a master of sewing and needlepoint.
Eleanor is the beloved wife of the late Edward Joseph Panarello. She is survived by her devoted daughter Valerie Eleanor Mastronardi (husband Nicholas), loving grandchildren, Nicholas D. Mastronardi (wife Karen), Katheryn Mastronardi-Davis (husband Mark), Edward J. Mastronardi (wife Shawne), and Valerie Mastronardi, and great grandchildren, Olivia, Isabelle, Sophia, & Darius Mastronardi, Christopher, Sarah & Eric Davis, and Celeste, Edward and Lucas Mastronardi.
Visitation Friday evening, December 11 from 5-8pm at COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME, 767E. Boston Post Rd, Mamaroneck. 914-698-5968. Funeral Mass Saturday, December 12 at 10am Sts. John & Paul RC Church followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
