Domenic Trifiletti passed away April 7, 2011 after a long illness. Born April 4, 1929 to Domenico and Angela (Barbaccia) Trifiletti, Dom was a lifelong resident of Mamaroneck. He was a 1947 graduate of Mamaroneck High School and was employed as a tennis instructor with the Village of Mamaroneck at Harbor Island Park for many years.
He was predeceased by nine brothers, Vincent “Jimmy,” Charlie, Filippo, Philip, John, Joseph (Giuseppe), Henry (Andrea), Frank, and Leo; and three sisters, Mary Trifiletti, Rose Pugliese, and Sadie DeRosa. He is survived by sister, Lena Viccaro, sister-in-law Sylvana Trifiletti and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was the founder of Magnifico Song Productions, and wrote the music and lyrics for “I Wish and Wish,” “The Good Things,” and “How Do You Say Goodbye?” among other songs. Dom also wrote the musical adaptation based on the book, “The Wind in the Willows” and a children’s song book. His hobbies included spiritualism, playing the organ, and watching and talking tennis and the NY Yankees. Dom also liked to cook and will always be remembered for stuffed calamari on Christmas Eve.
Friends may call on Saturday, April 9 from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm at the Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home, 767 E. Boston Post Rd., Mamaroneck, NY where a service will be held at 7:30 pm. In lieu of flowers and donations, please take some time out of your busy schedule to visit an elderly person.
