Gazette Ceases Publication: Donates Archives to LHS


In 2010, the Larchmont Gazette ceased publication. In 2011 the publishers donated all contents to the Larchmont Historical Society, which will continue to make the Gazette archives available online.

Dennis O’Keefe

Dennis O’Keefe, of Larchmont, passed away January 6, 2009 at age 95. Born December 12, 1913 in Manhattan to Michael& Catherine O’Keefe. A Major in the Army during WWII, Dennis was stationed in Iran. While serving, Dennis was responsible for running a port that supplied materials to the Russians. He went on to become an Executive for General Motors Overseas Division and he was also an avid golfer.

Dennis is the beloved husband of the late Helen Elizabeth O’Keefe. Survived by his loving children, Dennis O’Keefe, Michael O’Keefe (wife Fe), and Erin O’Keefe (husband Christopher McCready),grandchildre n, Kathleen, Patrick, Thomas, and Lauren O’Keefe and Nora & Aidan McCready and siblings, John O’Keefe, Elizabeth Nolan, and Frances Dervin. He is predeceased by his brothers Fr. Tom O’Keefe and Bishop Joe O’Keefe.

Visitation Thursday, January 8 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME, 767E. Boston Post Rd., Mamaroneck, 914-698-5968, www.coxeandgraziano.com. Funeral Mass Friday, January 9 at 10am at Sts. John & Paul R.C. Church in Larchmont followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
