Gazette Ceases Publication: Donates Archives to LHS

In 2010, the Larchmont Gazette ceased publication. In 2011 the publishers donated all contents to the Larchmont Historical Society, which will continue to make the Gazette archives available online.

Carroll V. (Russell) Saunders

Carroll V. (Russell) Saunders, 73, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 in Boynton Beach, Florida. Carroll was born in Mamaroneck, New York, the daughter of the late Thomas and Celia (Vinet) Russell of Mamaroneck, New York.

She was the loving wife of Walter S. Saunders. She will be deeply missed but will continue in our hearts. Besides her husband, she is survived by her sister, Lois (Russell) Ginese and her husband, Patsy. She was the cherished mother to daughter, Deborah A. (King) Holland and son-in-law, Robert; son, Joseph J. King III and daughter-in-law, Patti; son, Thomas E. King and daughter-inlaw, Mary Beth. Predeceased by her beloved sons, Patrick King and Robert P. King. She was the loving grandmother to Amy, Christina, Jason, Scott, Caitlin, Kerri, Casey, Calli and Thomas. She was great grandmother to Shane, Austin, Savannah and Joseph.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at a Memorial Gathering at Coxe and Graziano Funeral Home located at 767 East Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck, New York on Friday, July 16 from 4 to 9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 17 at 10:30 am at Holy Trinity Church, located at 320 East Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck, New York. Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, New York. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her memory to Carroll’s favorite charity St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
