Anthony Mirande, a longtime resident of Larchmont and proprietor of Franklin Cleaners, died at home on May 3, 2009. He was 88 years old. He was born April 26, 1920 in Larchmont to the late Emilio and Philomena Carpino Mirande. Anthony served in the United States Army during WWII as a military policeman, was the longest living member of the Town of Mamaroneck Fire Department and Ex Chief in 1953, was a member of the VFW and also the American Legion.
He is survived by his son Anthony C. Mirande (Virginia) of Dover Plains, NY, his brother Carl C. Mirande (Precious) of Larchmont, NY, two sisters, Mary Guadagnolo of Larchmont and Jennie Ricci of Mamaroneck. He is also survived by his grandchildren Michael, Christopher and Katelyn. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Petranella in 1995.
Friends may call from 7-9 pm on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 and 2-4 & 7-9 pm on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at the Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home, 767 E. Boston Post Rd., Mamaroneck, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 amon Friday, May 8, 2009 at Sts. John & Paul RC Church, Larchmont, NY. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Rye Brook. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Town of Mamaroneck Fire Department, 205 Weaver Street, Larchmont, NY 10538.
