Al Dorsey Sr., died peacefully at home on October 10, 2009. Born January 21, 1930 to Thomas and Sarah (Brownsword) Dorsey. Al enlisted in the US Air Force September 18, 1948 and was discharged in August, 1952. From 1956 until 1989, he worked for the US Postal Service as a carrier & Director of the PAR program. He is also a Licensed Methadone Counselor with St. Joseph’s Hospital Methadone Maintenance Treatment Clinic in Yonkers.
Al was a member of Korean War Veteran’s Chapter 91- American Legion Post 8, American Legion #347, Volunteer Larchmont Fire Department Hook & Ladder Company, and the Friends of Bill W.
Survived by his beloved wife Roberta (Carlson) Dorsey, cherished children Debbie Fatone, Al Jr., David, and adoring grandchildren Amber Fatone, Rachel Dorsey, Megan and David William Dorsey. He is predeceased by his son Billy.
Visitation Monday, October 12 fromĀ 2-4 and 7-9 pm at COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME, 767 E. Boston Post Rd, Mamaroneck, 914-698-5968. Prayer Service Tuesday, October 13 atĀ 12 noon at the funeral home, followed by interment at Greenwood Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Lung Association or Korean War Veterans.
