Woman Robbed on W. Garden Road

A 43-year-old woman is reporting she was robbed outside her West Garden Road home in the Town of Mamaroneck on Wednesday, January 27 at around 3:30 pm.

According to Mamaroneck Town Police spokesperson Lt. Robert Koziak, the woman was approached by the man, whom she described as black and in his early 20’s. The man suddenly displayed what appeared to be a hand gun and demanded the woman turn over her handbag.

The robber fled with the purse east towards Brookside Drive and entered a small beige sedan with dark tinted windows. The car, possibly a Nissan or Toyota, drove off towards the brook.

Lt. Koziak knew of no similar incidents in Mamaroneck Town or the neighboring communities.
Last year, a number of homeowners in the Gardens Lake area of Mamaroneck reported their homes had been entered and valuables taken while they were away. Similar break-ins were reported in Larchmont Village.

Those incidents are still under investigation, but there have been no new break-ins reported since November, said Lt. Koziak.
