Sneak A Peak at Harbor Fest for May 16,17

“The two entertainment stages at Mamaroneck Harbor Fest will be packed this weekend with the finest local talent,” promised Jen Graziano, organizer of the event. “Kicking off the festival on Saturday, May 16 at 11 am will be the real finest – members of the NYPD drumline, that is. ”

The “Finest” drummers are all New York City police officers or sergeants and all off-duty members of the NYPD Band with varying backgrounds in percussive studies. When they’re not performing in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Quebec, California or other international, national and local venues, some band members may be composing the group’s music – a unique fusion of field drumming and rock and roll.

The drum line will be ceding the stage later in the evening to Parrot Beach, a tribute to Jimmy Buffett, at 7 pm.

“We’ll have ongoing concerts, a vast array of delicious foods, three tall ships, an expanded children’s village, art, jewelry and business vendors and that’s just the beginning,” said Ms. Graziano.   ”We also have the Historic Village, a tribute to Mamaroneck of yesterday.”

“The excitement is mounting, all the hard work of the volunteers will soon be recognized and we’re anxiously looking forward to it,” said Ms. Graziano.
