Official Results Give Extra Support to Budget, Bond

”Minor arithmetic errors” and “a human recording error” were corrected in official results of the May 19 budget and bond vote released by the Mamaroneck School School district on Wednesday, May 27. The overall outcome was not impacted.

Official results do show that the budget and bond passed by even larger margins than originally recorded. The budget was supported by 68% of voters (not 66%) and the bond by  70% (not 69%).

Voters in every school district supported both the budget and the bond. (Unofficial results showed more “no” than “yes” votes for the budget at Mamaroneck Avenue School.)

The total count was also larger than first thought:  not 3081.

Votes for board members also changed slightly. Running unopposed, Linnet Tse got 2268; Robin Nichinsky 2311 ; and Anant Nambiar 2148.

Perhaps the district can use a \”scientific graphing calculator with qwerty keypad\” to calculate the votes next time. I know the Board of Education opposed the use of advanced level calculators in the past. LOL Problem was none of the adults at the Board knew how to use them. Next time, get a kid to count the votes. LOL
