On Monday, April 20, the Mamaroneck High School Vocal Ensemble performed for the residents at the Sarah Neuman Center in a concert sponsored by the Larchmont Knights of Columbus Council 3536. Dina Madden, chair of the Mamaroneck High School Music Department, directed the choir.
The performance was organized by Jeffrey Phillips, director of Plant Operations at Sarah Neuman and chair of the Knights’ Charitable Ways Committee. Several staff members and volunteers at the 300-bed nursing home and rehabilitation center in Mamaroneck are also members.
Other recent performances by the Vocal Ensemble include a nationwide competition at the Jefferson Memorial and at George Madison University in Washington, DC, where the ensemble received one of the highest ratings as a vocal group. The group has also performed at the Met Life Building in New York.
The Larchmont Knights of Columbus Council 3536 has supported many local events including Special Olympics, local blood drives, food and clothing drives, Boy Scout activities and Good Council Homes, which provides housing for single mothers in need of assistance.
