MLB.com is reporting that Jason Bay, formerly with the Red Sox and now with the Mets, will be living in Larchmont.
Evidently, the left fielder is happy with the commute.
He is still in Florida for spring training, but he told MLB.com he would not be living in a plush pad in Manhattan.
“We actually have a place in the burbs, out in Westchester County,” Jason Bay told Ian Browne of MLB.com. “In Larchmont. Larchmont was about as far as we wanted to go from the ballpark. Everybody was like, ‘Greenwich, Greenwich, Greenwich.’ But Greenwich is like 45 minutes without traffic. New York, an hour commute is like 15 minutes for everybody else … 20 minutes, tops. I don’t want to drive forever — especially with traffic.”
That endorsement ought to help sell some real estate around here.
This should help sell some local real estate to people who drive to work in Flushing and would rather cross a bridge than live on Long Island.
