Gazette Ceases Publication: Donates Archives to LHS

In 2010, the Larchmont Gazette ceased publication. In 2011 the publishers donated all contents to the Larchmont Historical Society, which will continue to make the Gazette archives available online.

All inquiries should be addressed to the Larchmont Historical Society.

Mets Left Fielder Landing in Larchmont is reporting that Jason Bay, formerly with the Red Sox and now with the Mets, will be living in Larchmont.

Evidently, the left fielder is happy with the commute.

He is still in Florida for spring training, but he told he would not be living in a plush pad in Manhattan.

“We actually have a place in the burbs, out in Westchester County,” Jason Bay told Ian Browne of “In Larchmont. Larchmont was about as far as we wanted to go from the ballpark. Everybody was like, ‘Greenwich, Greenwich, Greenwich.’ But Greenwich is like 45 minutes without traffic. New York, an hour commute is like 15 minutes for everybody else … 20 minutes, tops. I don’t want to drive forever — especially with traffic.”

That endorsement ought to help sell some real estate around here.

This should help sell some local real estate to people who drive to work in Flushing and would rather cross a bridge than live on Long Island.
