Mayor Liz Feld issued the following release on Wednesday morning, June 3:
I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Josh Mandell as Trustee of the Village of Larchmont, effective June 3, 2009. Mr. Mandell will fill the vacancy on the Village Board created by the May 17, 2009, departure of Jim Millstein.
Mr. Mandell began his investment career at Salomon Brothers in 1990 as a quantitative analyst where he was responsible for portfolio optimization and trade strategy formulation, supporting several of the firm’s largest clients. In 1992, Josh joined Salomon’s Fixed Income Division where he was responsible for trading bonds and options. After six years, Josh moved to the customer side of the business as an investment strategist, eventually managing money for institutional and high net worth investors at Caxton Associates and, most recently, Rock Ridge Advisors.
As Trustee, Josh will serve as Fire Commissioner, the Village’s representative on the Cable TV Board of Control, liaison to the Budget and Finance Committee, liaison to the Recreation Department and will participate in all other Village Board activities.
Josh received a B.S. in Finance with High Honors from the University of Florida (1989). He resides in the Village of Larchmont with his wife, Ravit, and their three children.
He is a volunteer at the Larchmont Fire Department, a member of Engine Company, and a state-certified interior firefighter.
The Village Board of Trustees will hold its next public meeting June 8, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. Mr. Mandell will participate in that meeting.
