On May 12, 2009, at the annual meeting of the board of the Friends of the Larchmont Public Library, Board President Stanley Futterman presented a $25,000 check to Miriam Curnin to support the renovation work currently underway at the children’s library.
Ms. Curnin, president of the Library Board President, accepted the check and thanked the Friends for their continued support for the children’s room redo. “The Friends of the Larchmont Library is a great friend indeed,” said Ms. Curnin. “With their generous donations, we are well on our way to meeting our ambitious fundraising goal.”
The Friends’ recent donation is in addition to a previous donation of $50,000 given back in December 2008. Work on the children’s room is expected to be completed late fall 2009. Demolition is already underway.
