Police are searching for a boater missing in the Long Island Sound off the shores of Larchmont. As of 7:30 pm on Saturday, June 26, the person had not been found.
According to a press release from Larchmont Police Chief John Poleway, Larchmont was notified around 1:24 pm by the New Rochelle police that they had received a 911 call about a missing boater. The search was being conducted by marine units from the New Rochelle police, the New York Police Department, the Coast Guard and the Village of Mamaroneck along with Westchester County Department of Public Safety Aviation.
The name of the missing individual was being withheld pending notification of family members.
