Statement of Assemblyman Ronald C. Tocci

Ron Tocci

"As a testament to my hard work on behalf of all constituents and a recognition of the value of my 18 year tenure as an influential voice in the Assembly Democratic Majority, I have been offered endorsements from several political parties.

I am humbled by the diversity of such support across the political spectrum. It confirms to me that despite their ideological disagreements, Democrats, Republicans, Conservatives, Independents and Working Families Party members across the Sound Shore District can agree on one thing: Assemblyman Tocci has earned their support, their trust, and their vote.

True to form, my opponent has decided to criticize me for considering endorsements from other parties. Once again his inexperience and desperation are shining through, I hope that he may eventually come to understand that to be a responsible and effective public servant, one must be attentive to the needs of all constituents, regardless of their political persuasion.

Bringing the Sound Shore communities together has been the focus of my 18 years as a State Assemblyman. I have every confidence that I will be re-elected and will continue to serve in the Assembly Democratic Majority. As a life-long Democrat, I will do what I have always done: work for the good health, decency and quality of life that have always been the promise of the Democratic Party for all people."
