Stepping Stones Ministries together with Dr. Peter H. Morgan and Consul General Felix Augustine of the Republic of Haiti to New York have joined efforts to launch an emergency drive to collect basic supplies for those most in need following the recent earthquake in Haiti.
Collection efforts have been underway for: first aid kits, non-perishable foods, personal hygiene and general items to help those victims. Currently there are 3 each 40-foot containers which are full and ready to be sent to Haiti. “We have volunteers manning the donated items; but, at this point, we are in greater need of monetary contributions to pay for the containers, shipping and trucking the goods into Haiti,” states Herman Mendoza, Executive Director and Operations Director of Stepping Stone Ministries.
Dr. Peter H. Morgan, DC, a chiropractor with offices in Mamaroneck and Washington Heights, just returned from a mission trip in Haiti just one day prior to the earthquake and is returning with a team of associates on January 20, 2010 to use his skill and knowledge to help the victims and is organizing efforts to provide water purification systems. “I firmly believe my mission in life is to constantly help others,” states Dr. Morgan, “Even one person can make a difference and touch the lives of so many others especially in a tragic situation such as that currently in Haiti.” Dr. Morgan also will be hosting charity events to benefit the victims of the Haiti earthquake in February 2010.
Monetary donations can be made to: Stepping Stones Ministries, memo “Operation Haiti Relief”, PO Box 564311, College Point, NY 11356 or to: Dr. Peter H. Morgan, memo “Operation Haiti Relief”, 931 East Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck, NY 10543.
